Musicians in the Schools/Ensembles in the Schools

Musicians in the Schools
New this season, individual professional Boise Philharmonic musicians will visit more than 275 second grade classrooms throughout the Boise, Nampa and Meridian school districts.

Each musician discusses and demonstrates the various sounds their instruments can make it relavent to the child and it supports school curriculum.

Through multiple studies, developing listening skills through music has a postive impact on reading skills.  Visit our blog and discover some of the experiences through the eyes of the musicians.

Ensembles in the Schools
This season our chamber ensembles, the Brass Quintet, the Woodwind Quintet, and the String Quartet, will provide onsite performances in schools all over Idaho.  These school visits enable the children to hear and see the instruments up close, meet the musicians, ask questions, and learn about life in the arts. Contact Nancy Smith for more information.
